Short description:
Incomplete knowledge representation, abstraction from details while retaining qualitatively significant properties, behavior prediction. Physical system, structure, behavior, function, model, modeling versus simulation. Simulation algorithm QSIM and its properties. Examples of qualitative models – strings, containers, regulators, ecology and social phenomena. QSIM improvement methods. Comparative statics, stability, sign digraphs. Automated modeling.
