CNC Research Group headed by Igor Farkaš focuses on modeling various cognitive processes, mainly related to language, and most recently cognitive robotics, using primarily neural network approach and the so-called distinguishing criteria developed at DAI.

Computational Biology Research Group investigates various algorithmic and machine learning problems in computational biology, and collaborates with molecular biology researchers worldwide on variety of projects.

DN Group headed by Mária Markošová works in the area of dynamics and structure of networks.
