Short description:

The course will provide a deeper introduction to the UNIX operating system, its overall philosophy and tools, in particular Shell interpreters, standard commands like grep, find, test, cron, etc. Network commands like finger, rsh, ssh, telnet, … Development tools gcc, gdb, make, their integration into an integrated development environment like Kdevelop. Source code revision systems RCS and CVS, etc.
